Multiplex has completed Brisbane Casino Towers, the thirty level apartment development located in South Brisbane for Metro Property Development. The residential tower includes a two level podium and twenty-seven levels of apartments comprising 378 one and two bedroom apartments. The development features eight floors of parking including six basement and two podium levels.

The Queens Wharf casino is slated to be Brisbane’s biggest development in a generation, with the goal of transforming the area into a world-class tourism and gaming destination. In addition to the casino itself the project could encompass an underground shopping centre that extends beneath Queens Street, as well as the conversion of the. Casino is a town in the Northern Rivers area of New South Wales, Australia, with a population of 10,914 people at the 2016 census. It lies on the banks of the Richmond River and is situated at the junction of the Bruxner Highway and the Summerland Way. It is located 726 km (451 mi) north of Sydney and 228 km (142 mi) south of Brisbane. The Queen’s Wharf Brisbane (QWB) project is the largest heritage precinct redevelopment in the southern hemisphere. The regeneration of the Queen’s Wharf will revitalise the site of Brisbane’s first European settlers with a blend of historic and contemporary architecture.
Calibre were specifically chosen as the heritage engineer for this unique redevelopment. The primary scope is to undertake the structural design of the repurposing of the eleven State-owned heritage structures including:

Calibre have been involved during the heritage approval process, working with the Consortium and the State Government to ensure the inground shoring system for the Integrated Resort Development (IRD) basement is designed such that movement of the retention wall would not affect the fragile heritage structures.
Additional project highlights have included:
*Providing leading edge in ground support to allow construction of a 37m deep excavation next to the fragile heritage buildings.
*Repurposing eleven heritage-listed buildings to suit their proposed new uses, using techniques sensitive to the heritage values of each building and in accordance with the Burra Charter.
*Repairing and underpinning of several heritage buildings due to poor maintenance and foundation settlement and subsidence.

World-leading BIM collaboration
As DBC will develop, own and operate the integrated world class hotel, casino and entertainment complex, the decision was made to implement Building Information Modeling (BIM) to promote a higher quality of design and construction.
As DBC will be managing the complex following construction, the facilities information created during the BIM process will be integral to the ongoing asset management of the precinct.
Queens Wharf is being delivered in a fully collaborative BIM environment. With over 20 consultants and specialists working on over 60 separate models, the federated model is one of the largest BIM projects currently being undertaken in the world.
